Free form backends, compared by what the free plan gives you
Most form backends have a free plan. The limits differ a lot, and so do the things the free plan leaves out.
Free submissions
- Web3Forms: 250 a month. Its docs say spam protection with reCAPTCHA or Turnstile, file uploads and webhooks need a paid plan.
- Formspark: 250 submissions and 10 forms; after that you pay once rather than monthly.
- Forminit (formerly Getform): 100 a month, 1 form.
- Formspree: 50 a month, unlimited forms, basic spam filtering.
- Basin: 50 a month, 1 form, submissions kept 30 days.
- Formcarry: 50 a month, 1 form, file uploads included.
- FormSubmit: free, with no account and no stated limit; reCAPTCHA is on by default.
- Netlify Forms: free and unlimited on Netlify’s current plans, for sites hosted on Netlify.
What to check before you rely on a free plan
- What happens at the limit: are submissions rejected, held, or charged?
- How long submissions are kept.
- Whether spam protection is included. A public contact form gets spam within days, and spam counts toward your limit.
- Whether you can export your submissions and leave.
